Scavenger Hunt

Mom has always done a scavenger hunt for us on Easter. This year she had a "picture" hunt for Nathaniel. He LOVED it!

Just looking for more eggs with Oma

Easter Sunday

Egg Hunts

Nate's first Egg Hunt... We got together with our friends and the Mommas "hid" the eggs all over the park.

We came with 24 eggs and left with 6. Nathaniel was excited about opening each egg when he came to it.

I think his friend Jack is actually taking his eggs from him. Watch out buddy!

Round 2
Ready with the basket. This time I'm going to pick up ALL the eggs first... then look inside them. Momma needs some chocolate!

Even Logan got to participate

Sharing the loot

Round 3
The local businesses had eggs for those who wanted to participate in a scavenger hunt type of egg hunt. It was a gorgeous day for a walk! Nate would ask for two eggs at each business (one for Logan too) and was eating the contents of the eggs faster than we could put them in the basket.

Nursing Strike

Logan has unfortunately decided he is done nursing. While I would like to enjoy the freedom I have been beside myself with the fear that he is not getting the nutrition he needs now. It started last Wednesday when he bit me at the 7pm feeding. I yelped...obviously and then gave him a little flick on the lips. He then refused to eat so I waited till his next feeding at 10pm and he ate just fine (or as normal I should say). The next morning he wouldn't nurse... and hasn't ever since :-( I'm frankly a little gun shy about putting myself out there, but I have and I've been getting either a really grumpy face, extreme crying or bit. I don't particularly care for any of those reactions. I've called the pediatrician... they don't seem alarmed at all. I called a consultant and she said this sometimes happens and he will come back to nursing within a week or so. I also talked to a friend who had the same scenario and she said it took a month for her little girl to get back nursing. So it sounds like there is hope, but continuing to try it (and the time at the pump) is exhausting.

Potty Training Pt 2

Is this not the happiest kid...potty training at OMAs is way more fun! She gives him stickers every time he goes potty!

So it's coming... slowly but surely Nathaniel is able to tell us when he needs to use the toilet in the morning. Not always, but sometimes and in that case he gets a lollipop. Well he gets a few minutes to lick the lollipop then it goes back in the wrapper until tomorrow. It's seems to be working out okay for us.

It's All about containment!

Sometimes people ask me how I make it through the day.... strap 'em down and get something done!

E.X.H.A.U.S.T.E.D

The last two weeks have been totally exhausting... I'm thinking I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now though. We had so much fun at the beach that I hardly took notice of a scratch on little Logan's face. I figured it was just a scratch and would go away on its own. Well, it didn't and soon became infected and spread all around his eye and his mouth. Thankfully it didn't affect his demeanor much

After about 5 days or so, I called the advice nurse and they said they wanted to check it out and when I got there to go to the back of the clinic and ring the doorbell for them to come get us. I said, Hmmm sounds like you think we might be contagious? Yep. Turns out he has "infantigo" or a staff infection. Great. At least the visit to the Doctor was productive. Maybe that explains why he hasn't been sleeping well? No sooner did we get the antibiotics for Logan than I came down with a pesky little head cold. Thankful it only stayed for 2 days because Saturday Nate comes down with a 104 temperature.

I think I've slept only 1 hour segments for the last 2 weeks! Nate's temperature was followed by a terrible raspy cough which I ended up taking him in for only to find out he has Croup and if it doesn't get better we can get some steroids for him. Ahhh. Whatever head cold I had didn't completely go away and came back with a vengeance on Wednesday. And since I'm teaching my boys the value of Sharing... I have shared with Logan :-) Thankful Daddy is still standing strong... we are pumping him full of Echinacea and Vitamin C and Airborne. This too shall pass!

8 Months

Football

A friendly game of football. This brought back fun memories of when we were growing up. I wished I had been able to play...but then again, maybe it's better just remembering the good ole days then trying to play and injuring myself.

Off to the tidepools

Yes, this is my son... walking around with a turquoise bucket on his head.

Papa and the kids are off...

I think this is right before Oma saved Nate from a sneaker wave. He was soaked... but had oh so much fun!

Oma and Papa

All the grandkids had a blast....

Catchin some zzzzzzzzzzzzs

Despite all the chaos my boys slept fairly well last week. Now that I look back everyone was probably thinking I was the sleep Nazi constantly saying...."please keep it down the boys are sleeping". I guess once they get to sleep they can sleep through almost anything.
