Halloween Party

We went to Daddy's work for a Halloween party. The boys got their costumes on and tried their hand at a few games. The event was full of fun: Basketball, soccer, frisbee, calk walk, & Balloon animal station (aka ray gun). We were thankful that it wasn't too crowded!

Disney on Ice

We were the beneficiaries of tickets to Disney on Ice this weekend! The boys had a fantastic time. I wasn't sure how they would respond to such a big production. They were awestruck. I don't think they blinked at all. They were so excited to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald on the ice. They both started yelling "Hi Mickey!" when they saw him and were a little disappointed when he didn't respond. We had to explain there were too many kids for him to talk to them all. The boys were mezmerized by the story of Princess and the Frog, Cinderella and Rapunzel. I tried to capture the intense focus on their faces. And now to continue saving our quarters so that we can visit Mickey Mouse's house in California someday.

Tumble Class

We learned how to hop skip and jump all around the mats, beams and cushions. Even Logan enjoyed a tumble here and there.

Pumpkin Cake

My Aunt Laura came over for dinner the other night and brought the boys these fun pumpkin cakes. They were so tasty! Although, Nathaniel did say after a few bites he wasn't going to fill up on just sugar and would finish his milk.

Shoo Fly Dont Bother Me

These boys are well qualified to protect their momma with the "Sly Fwaters" now that they have found and dealt with any remaining fruit flies from our apple adventures last week. I feel so safe now!

Pajama Party

Aunt Betsy and Uncle Stevie had a great idea... a pajama party. We invited the family over and watched the Bee Movie after pizza of course. We should do this monthly. I can't wait till our next one!

Apples

We got a box of apples and decided to make something fun! The boys loved using the apple peeler/corer/slicer. The process took a bit longer but it was worth the excitement.

Watching the Swifts

This post is a little late since we did this activity in September... but it was such a fun time with Oma and Papa Jim and our cousin Christian I just have to post it. There are thousands of swifts that "live" in the Chimmney at Chapman Elementary for a few weeks before they continue South for the winter. It's quite amazing to watch them swarm into the chimney for the evening.

Surprise trip to the coast

Monday morning we were just milling around the house until we heard a knock at the door. Oma and Papa Jim were wondering if we wanted to join them on the way out to the beach! Perfect timing... I was trying to escape that laundry pile calling my name! And Daddy was on a buisness trip. So we packed our bags and were out the door. We stayed at a fancy time share resort in Seaside that my parents had been given for a few days. What fun! The boys loved being pushed around on the luggage cart through the hallways. They played in the pool a bit and loved burying OMA in the sand. We brought home lots of treasure to make a project the next time we get together too. Of course we also found fun things to do on Main street as well. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed every minute!

Plumper Pumpkin

A pumpkin patch before October???? I know, it's crazy.... but it was a work sponsored event. There was hardly anyone there and it was a beautiful day. The boys pet the animals, played on the slide, ran through the hay maze, went bowling, raced the baby ducks, shot the pumpkin cannon, got lost in the corn maze, rode the cow barrel ride (by themselves!!!), ate kettle corn and apple cider, sling shot pumpkins and corn on the cob, went on an extremely bumpy hay ride, and found the perfect pumpkin just for them. It was a relaxing morning for our family.
