Valentines Day

At the beginning of February we went to a little workshop at Home Depot and built a Valentines Day box (I love the free, first Saturday of the Month projects at Home Depot). We spent a couple days painting them and about a week before Valentines day put them outside our front door just in case any friends wanted to bring by a special note or candy :-). It was a huge success! Many of our neighbors stopped by with a special treat and the boys were constantly checking their boxes in the morning and after naps. We had fun making valentines for our friends too. I think the boys loved the "sneaking" part the best. I asked Nathaniel if we should ring the doorbell and run and he said, "No, let's scamper away like squirrels!" We even had a few mystery valentines which was fun. Sadly I told the boys we would have to put our box away until next year.

Bowling Party

We thought it might be fun to have a bowling party for his birthday. I was indeed fun, choatic... but fun. We put all the big kids who knew how to bowl in one lane and 12 three to five year olds in another. It happened to be Cosmic bowling so that added to the craziness. It seemed like everyone had fun though and enjoyed the snacks, juice boxes and pizza. Afterwards we had a PJ party with the family and watched a Bug's Life.

Happy Birthday

My sweet little boy turned 4 this month. We had a week long celebration with family and friends. Nathaniel started off the day with a special date with Oma. They went off to Shari's Restaraunt for a big waffle/strawberry/whip cream breakfast. Afterwards they went to the dollar store with $4 to buy WHATEVER he wanted. Pretty cool present huh? He came home with a teddy bear, ball, silly string, and a glow stick to share with Logan. He had a special time with Oma and has not stopped talking about it. That evening he got to go out for MacNCheese at Red Robin. I was surprised he was a little shy when they sang to him, but he got over it quickly with chocolate cake to take care of.

Swim Lessons

Our mornings have been busy with swim lessons at a local pool. Our first week was rather miserable (for both of us). Nathaniel cried and cried and I felt like the worst mom ever. After 2 30minute crying sessions Daddy suggested an incentive (Swim Googles!) and he hasn't cried since. If only I had thought of that!!!! Technically he wasn't supposed to wear them in the class, but the teacher let him wear them for 3 lessons before saying something about it. He's learned a lot and become comfortable with back floating, speed boats (face down) and bobs in the water.

Bella

Nathaniel and Logan couldn't say YES! fast enough when we found out Bella would need a home for the next six weeks. They are so excited to be feeding her, taking her for walks, and running around with her. I think it's more commotion than she is used to, but likes the boys fair enough.

Workin' Out

We've been busy this month. Not sure I can account for all my time, but we are all doing well. I've been training for a 5k race in March. Now that it's just around the corner I wonder why I signed up (actually paid money) to torture myself like this. But I must see it through. But don't be too surprised if I endup walking some of it. 3 miles is really too much for someone to run don't you think? At home the boys are helping out by doing their pushups and situps. It's nice to have a little company.
