Tulip Fields

I love tulips! I try to go every year and see the tulip fields. It's so beautiful! I love the rows and rows of color. We were able to wrangle Oma and Papa Jim to join us this year. Nathaniel had fun smelling the flowers. The John Deere tractor was a lot of fun too.

Easter 2014

Easter weekend was full with lots of activities. Oma was over on Friday and we dyed easter eggs.
Saturday morning the boys woke up and I suggested we go to a local grocery store egg hunt. Before I could get out of the shower, Nate had gotten dressed, put his shoes on and buckled himself in the car. Waiting patiently for the next 40 minutes while Daddy got ready and we got Logan ready. Nate definitely knew how to play the game! Inside some of the eggs were little papers with a grocery item prize that you could claim inside the store. We scored a couple boxes of fruit snacks, a cheese stick, and a 8lb turkey in a plastic wheelbarrow. Yep, a turkey! Awesome Egg Hunt as far as I'm concerned.
Later we went with the neighbor girl to Nate's Elementary school for a little egg hunt. It's amazing how quickly those eggs can be picked up. Logan actually won a raffle drawing and got a cool water gun set. Nate claimed the prize since Logan was too shy.
Sunday we celebrated Easter by going to church and then have my family over for dinner. While I was cooking in the kitchen I came up with a brilliant plan. I didn't have time to put an egg hunt together and then I thought why not have the boys do it? I gave the boys each 20 empty eggs and a bag of M&Ms for them to hide inside the eggs. When they were done I gave them each a room to hide the eggs in so their brother could look for them. Once they found the eggs, they went and hid them again. At least an hour of fun and I didn't have to do the work!
When Oma came over she brought a basket for each of the kids so we hid them in the yard with more eggs (I had to stuff these ones). Each boy got a quadrant of the yard that they were able to "hunt" in.

Jeremy and Jens baby shower

Colton Marshall should be arriving shortly! We were invited to join the baby shower put on by Jeremy's friends at a pizza place. They had the party room all decorated and seem like they are ready for that Lil Man to make his debut.

Bank Account!

Nate has been asking about opening a bank account all week. He's been saving his quarters for almost 2 years now ever since Aunt Betsy gave him a little jar with a quarter in it. He has been saving for a visit to Mickey Mouse's house (aka Disneyland). He loves doing jobs around the house, recycling pop cans and helping Papa Jim for any extra change. So Daddy took him in and they got to use the coin counter! If anyone has any jobs to do around the house... Nate is your boy!

Yardwork

Timmmmmmmbrrrrrrrr! The boys were so excited to watch the trees fall in the front yard. (I'm excited too.... for less leaf raking in the fall!). Both boys helped with the branches. I loved hearing Nathaniel encouraging Logan to bring him the "big" branches. Lots of fun!
