Easter 2014

Easter weekend was full with lots of activities. Oma was over on Friday and we dyed easter eggs.
Saturday morning the boys woke up and I suggested we go to a local grocery store egg hunt. Before I could get out of the shower, Nate had gotten dressed, put his shoes on and buckled himself in the car. Waiting patiently for the next 40 minutes while Daddy got ready and we got Logan ready. Nate definitely knew how to play the game! Inside some of the eggs were little papers with a grocery item prize that you could claim inside the store. We scored a couple boxes of fruit snacks, a cheese stick, and a 8lb turkey in a plastic wheelbarrow. Yep, a turkey! Awesome Egg Hunt as far as I'm concerned.
Later we went with the neighbor girl to Nate's Elementary school for a little egg hunt. It's amazing how quickly those eggs can be picked up. Logan actually won a raffle drawing and got a cool water gun set. Nate claimed the prize since Logan was too shy.
Sunday we celebrated Easter by going to church and then have my family over for dinner. While I was cooking in the kitchen I came up with a brilliant plan. I didn't have time to put an egg hunt together and then I thought why not have the boys do it? I gave the boys each 20 empty eggs and a bag of M&Ms for them to hide inside the eggs. When they were done I gave them each a room to hide the eggs in so their brother could look for them. Once they found the eggs, they went and hid them again. At least an hour of fun and I didn't have to do the work!
When Oma came over she brought a basket for each of the kids so we hid them in the yard with more eggs (I had to stuff these ones). Each boy got a quadrant of the yard that they were able to "hunt" in.
