Pump it Up

We've only been to the Pump it Up Junior for kids 5 and under. This last week we discovered the "big kid" Pump it Up. The slide is a bit steeper, but they had a few more inflatables to jump around in. Nate loved it! Logan... well I think he just had an off day.

Bike Riding

The boys love to ride bikes these days. And now that we have helmets I feel a bit more comfortable having them screaming down the driveway (not that our driveway is all that steep, but Logan tries to go as fast as he can). I love that we are so close to the bike path and hope that our evening walks continue well into October. The "Family walk" is one of our favorite times of the day.

Safari Giraffe

Feeding the giraffe was the highlight of the trip. We were surprised to find out that they stopped their "regular" giraffe excursions after Labor Day. Thankfully someone booked a birthday party and were happy to have us join them (it meant lowering their costs!). Both boys were brave enough to feed the giraffe (Mate was his name although Nathaniel is SURE his name is NATE). Logan was sad when the giraffe finally walked away. I would definitely recommend the safari to families with kids! Take your Zoo pass and get a discount!

Widlife Safari

We took another trip this year to the Safari. I wasn't quite sure if Logan would enjoy it but he did. We stopped half-way there and spent the night at a hotel to break up the drive. When we arrived we checked into when they were feeding the giraffes and scheduled a tour. It wasn't till later in the day so we had plenty of time to enjoy the petting zoo and drive through the park. I think boys almost loved "driving" with Daddy more than the animals. The Ostrich made them a bit nervous but the other animals were just fun to watch.

Blackberries

We have direct access to Blackberries by our house. I love it! It's work picking the berries but we love the pie! It was nice to have Uncle Stevie and Betsy with us too.

Beach Trip

We spent the afternoon at the coast last weekend. The boys loved visiting the Cheese Factory (mostly because they got ice cream!). We took a little train from Garabaldi to Rockaway and then back. The boys were super excited to be on a real steam engine! Afterwards we caught up with Uncle Stevie and Betsy who were also at the coast for a few days. Nathaniel got to "fish" with Uncle Stevie and run away from the crashing waves. Lots of fun!

Not my favorite day

Every once in a while we have one of "those days" where nobody seems to be happy.... so we just sit on the couch and cry. Sometimes it's good to just get it out.

Peaches!

It's that time of year. Uncle Stevie went with us this year to pick peaches. The boys had fun chasing him around the orchard. It didn't take very long to get the peaches. Nate was a super helper picking the ones that his little fists could hold onto and throwing them in the box. sigh. It's nice to have helpers :-) And then I got to can them! I love fresh peaches in the winter!
