Portland's "Amazing Race" Challenge

SuperMom capes are ready to go.... this was more work than I expected!
We are ready to race...
Guiness World's smallest park in our very own city, who knew?
Never seen this elephant before...
Trying to spell our state capitals while the water fountain is on
Playing football with Seattle Seahawk fans
Mom's ringing the liberty bell, while I'm trying to shoot her. Guess we weren't clear on what charade to act out. We had a tough time with this clue... it needed to be unscrambled "Treble billy". We called Dad at home since he likes to do the jumble. I barely spelled it out and he said the answer. I almost hung up saying call me when you get it and he was trying to tell me that he had the answer already. I could hardly believe how fast he was!
After finding someone with a driver's license from out of state, this is mom and I attempting to make the shape of Arkansas or was it Alabama. Apparently we needed a geography refresher.
We finished 56 out of 135 teams!!!! So much fun.... really a lot of fun.

Dozer Days

I was out shopping last week and the boys were watching a delivery man go up and down the elevator(?) on the back of his truck. He mentioned... if your boys think my truck is cool you should check out Dozer Days in Camas next weekend. The kids actually get to operate all sorts of bulldozer and other equipment. So I looked it up and sure enough...we got tickets and invited Oma and Papa Jim to join us. (Which was great, because Ken and I stood in lines all day while the boys went and played in the sand box and ate elephant ears and ice cream with the grandparents). At the entrance we hopped into the back of a dump truck and drove off into the quarry where all the diggers where... let the fun begin!
Logan just enjoyed playing in the dirt and collecting rocks for Papa Jim
Nathaniel loved "driving" the buldozers and other equipement. We only got through 4 of them before it was nap time. So much fun though!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a special day for me... the boys took me out to breakfast. Later that day they came in saying "surprise" with tulips in their hands...
And then in typical boy fashion.... the tulips became swords.
We spent the afternoon at my parents house celebrating with OMA.
And then the water bottles came out...
My wonderful family

Riding Bikes

I never reallly thought much about teaching the boys how to ride a bike...or how much joy they could get from riding a bike. So Much FUN!!!!
Logan loves this little car. He can't make it go fast enough. We have to put it out of reach otherwise anytime I open the garage he would be flying down the driveway and into the street.

Driving Already?

I thought it would be a few years still till the boys learned how to drive, but the neighbors graciously shared their JEEP with the boys last weekend. Nathaniel was on cloud nine. He drove up and down our driveway and down the street.... taking Logan everywhere he wanted to go.

End of the year programs

Our Tuesday/Thursday classes are coming to a close for the year. We are a little sad, but it will be nice to take a break from our routine. Tuesday I helped in the 3 year old classroom and we sang a song for the moms on the last day.
We will also miss our Thursday Bible Study class, but next year Nate will be with the big kids. The Grow, grow, grow song was one of his favorites.

Together

Playing nicely together... I love it!

Logan's VIP seat

Yikes! How did the chair get on the coffee table? Looks like Logan needed VIP seating for brushing his teeth.... and Yes, I made him get down. Totally unsafe! First I need a picture though.

Making a "wafer" cookie at Intel's open house. We took our sugar cookie and put it in the "oven" to get it's frosting, then over to the chip area to put some sprinkle "chips" on our wafer, then over to the "connecter" area to use the red licorice to secure the chips. Very cute.
Off to discover the snow cones...mmmmmmmm And Yes, they both ended up on the floor before too long.
We couldn't take any pictures inside, but the boys were way too cute watching the robots through the factory windows. One of the workers put a head and face covering on Nate just for fun.
