Going to Europe!!!

Ken has been travelling a bit for work. I knew he had a trip to Europe on the horizon, but didn't know when and for how long. So he came home one day and said well it looks like we have the dates for the trip, we have a few nights free stay at the Marriott maybe you should see if you can meet me there? Um, SAY NO MORE!!!! I'M IN!!!! Ken had to book his travel the next day, so I literallly had 12 hours to see if I could find a flight (using airmiles) and arrange babysitting for the boys. I started hunting for flights and came up with one that flew into Belgium (where all Mom's cousins/extended family live) and out of Paris for $80! Yep, all I had to pay were the taxes! Oma and Papa graciously agreed to watch the boys for a week. And the planning began. What should we see? Where should we go? I grabbed a Rick Steve's Paris guidebook and began to plan. Every once in a while all this business travel pays off.

Fun with Ketchup

What do you do with a massive bucket of ketchup? Some dear friends of ours moved to Virginia and we helped them clean out thier refridgerator. We came home with quite a few condiment jars/bottles one was an army supply of Heinz ketchup. I already had 3 squeeze bottles from last years BBQ, so I didn't really have a good use for this tomato goodness. In steps Nathaniel. Can I help you with that, momma? Now I'm thinking to myself this is going to be such a mess, but he might really have some fun. And soon enough he was at the countertop with the funnel, a measuring cup, and empty squeeze bottle and a huge drum of ketchup. He had so much fun (almost an hour of entertainment) and he even got to eat the ketchup for breakfast!

Small High School Reunion

We had a fun little get-together last week. One friend from high school lives in Africa now, but she was in town so she got everyone togetherfor dinner. Okay, obviously not everyone. But it was fun seeing the 6 of us together again. Most of us had been in grade school together and haven't really seen each other since graduation (which was over 15 years ago). There was so much to catch up on.... and not nearly enough time. Sweet memories. I guess we can hope to catch up again at our 20 year reunion if not before then. Yikes did I say 20 year reunion? I'm getting old :-(

Mom has fun too!

A day playing volleyball! Last weekend I participated in a Women's Tournament with a bunch of gals I don't know very well. It was still a lot of fun. Although the games were so short (only to 15 points) and the wait between each game was about an hour. It was nice to get out and play! Thank you Sara for watching the boys!

Casual Breakfast

Sometimes we get to eat breakfast in our "snack spot"

Just relaxing....

While Mom changes my diaper!

Library Storytime

I love the intent look/smile he has on his face as he listens to the story.
