ZooLights

The zoolights were fun this year. We actually spent the $6 and rode the train. Nathaniel LOVED the train.Logan liked it too, although the pictures doesn't portray it :-)

Waving goodbye to the train... I told him maybe Oma could take him next week :-) hint hint :-)

Daddy CAN hold both boys at once!

These boys are so precious to me! And they have so much fun together.I am blessed!

Who doesn't like to like the spatula?

I made possibly the BEST cookies ever this last week (it was like a chocolate brownie with mint chips! mmmm) and of course offered the spatula to Nathaniel when I was finished. 15 minutes worth of quiet time... Yes it was worth it.

Here's my recipe
2 pkg (16 squares) of Bakers' Semi-sweet Baking Chocolate
3/4 C packed brown sugar
1/4 C Butter or margarine
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 C Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder

Coarsely chop 1 pkg of Baking Chocolate and set aside. Microwave the remaining pkg (8 squares) of chocolate for 2 minutes. Stir until melted and smooth. Stir in sugar butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour and baking powder. Stir in the reserved chopped chocolate. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until cookies are puffed and feel set. Cool for 1 minute on baking sheet then transfer to a wire rack.

Tummy Time

Mom tries to give Logan tummy time, but quite often I'm afraid he will get run over by Nathaniel. But I did get a picture on this rare occasion!

Drink break

Sometimes it's easier when you don't have to use your hands....

Step stool

Nathaniel's new best friend... He found out he can move this piece of furniture on his own quite easily and has been putting it near the computer to sit next to mom or Dad or over by the door to look out the back window. He brought it into the kitchen and set it down right by the fridge... now he can reach the buttons for the light and ice/water dispenser! Fortunately it was on ice mode and he has not discovered that button. That will be an exciting day!

Grocery shopping

I'm a bit surprised it took this long to discover the car attached to the cart as we are always in and out of a grocery store. On this particular day I was just going to run in and drop a letter off at the post office inside the store. When Nathaniel saw this cart I knew we were going to have to roam the store for a while to let him enjoy the experience. It was quite entertaining.

When its raining.... go play at Costco

We could have easily spent another hour there....

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a wish list from Nathaniel. He played with them all so much at the store he does NOT need them at our house. Thanks :-)

Stuck

This word is quite common at our house. Nathaniel is always getting "stuck". Somehow he managed to squeeze behind the couch, walk along the backside and then ran into the pack-n-play at the other end. My little explorer!

Storytime

Nathaniel loves books. Every night we read books- the same 5 over and over and over again. They say repetition is good for them right? I think we both can recite these books all on our own. Nathaniel apparently wants to pass on this legacy as he sat down and read to his brother tonight. How Sweet!

Daddy Time

Ken and Logan got some quality snuggle time before he left on a business trip.

Happy Halloween

Logan helped hand out candy at my Aunt's house in Minnesota. (Nathaniel was in South Dakota with Oma and Papa) My 17 year old cousin went trick-o-treating and we thought it would be fun to take a picture of Logan with the loot.

The boys dressed up as Skunks this year.... yes they are little stinkers! I was so excited to find a costume for both of them. Neither stayed in their costume long as Nathaniel's was more like a coat that he could take off and Logan had to eat soon after we got to the party. Oh well.

No shortage of hands to hold the boys :-)

It was a rude awakening for Nathaniel to come back home and have to walk on his own.

Grandma turns 85

We had fabulous trip out to Minnesota last week. It went by way too fast. We stayed 2nights in Apple Valley with my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin and then 2 nights in farm country at Grandma's and then 2 more nights back in Apple Valley. We had hoped to visit LegoLand in the Mall of America but it was under construction so we ended up at the Underwater Aquarium which was maybe more fascinating (for me anyway). I had also hoped to spend time in a grain bin and maybe visit the pig farm while at Grandma's but there was so much going on and so little time that Nathaniel didn't get that experience either. I guess we will have to go back :-) Grandma was super surprised to see us and it seemed like the party was a big hit. It was also fun to see how big the cousins have grown. I think I was 10 when my first cousin arrived and my youngest cousin is the same age as my youngest son. All in all it was a relaxing time and we wish we could have stayed longer!

Logan and Ida

This was the first chance for Logan (Born Aug 2nd) to meet his second Cousin Ida (Born Aug 4th). It seemed like they hit it off quite well. My Grandma became a Great Grandma and Grandma within the same week.
