I realize I haven't posted a ton of Logan pictures. It's not that we aren't taking pictures of him, it's that Nathaniel is doing so much and Logan is really only competent at 3 things at this point in his life (eating, sleeping and pooping). He is starting to smile though which is a lot of fun for us.

Nathaniel loves storytime
We read lots of board books at our house... that said, I haven't checked out any books in at least 6 months at the library. I got a fine last October and have been a little skiddish about trying to keep track of books with a toddler who could possibly "hide" them from me. I know I should get over my fear, but repetition at this age (20 months) is good right?

Tumble Tots
Nathaniel is signed up for a class through the park and rec district. He was surprisingly shy and held on to my leg most of the time (other than when they called his name for a sticker which he promptly took from the teacher). We have the class for the next 8 weeks. Hope he shows more interest as time goes by.

Walking Zombies
We have been absent from the blogging world this last week due to lack of sleep. Our sweet Turkey #1 has decided to boycott napping and bedtimes much to our dismay. Ken was just saying last week how nice it was to have Nathaniel go right to sleep when he puts him down for the night. Well that has changed (I guess "This too shall pass" also applies to the good times) and for the last week or so he has been upset about being put in his crib, first at nap time and now at bedtime too. I know he is tired when I put him down, so I don't think he is getting rid of his nap at 19 months old. I don't know if it's a delayed response to getting a new brother, if he's going to hit some great milestone here soon, if he is getting more teeth (I thought he had all of his already!), if he's thinking about potty training or maybe he is just being defiant? Since nothing seems to be wrong physically, we've been trying to let him cry it out, but 2 hours has been the maximum before I go in and get him. He keeps ending up in our bed and then none of us get any sleep. Somehow we need to figure out how to hit the "Reset" button, because everyone is super tired around here. I think we are going to have him spend the night with his cousins. He is always so well behaved when others are around. We are hoping to get him back into his old pattern of willingly taking his nap and going down for bed with little to no complaints soon.

Dogsitting for the weekend
Nathaniel woke up on Friday morning to a fun surprise. Bella's parents dropped her off Thursday night after he was in bed. At first he wasn't sure what to think of this new little one running around, but soon said "woof, woof" and started chasing her around. They had a great time together exploring the backyard, but I think Bella was happy to see her parents on Sunday afternoon.

Potty Training already!!!!
Okay so it's a bit early, but Oma has planted the idea and worked with Nathaniel a bit on potty training. So I'm going with it. Nathaniel has been telling me when he is going potty so we go over to the bathroom and sit on his special seat. That being said, today he didn't want to sit on the seat at all. So who knows when it will actually happen... cute picture though :-)
1 Month old
My baby is growing so fast!!!! He gained 2 pounds in the first month. He is already smiling at us. He is on and every 3 hour eating schedule (I don't know if he established that or if I decided that was the only way to remember to feed him!).Its amazing how much more relaxed we are with him. With Nathaniel we were up at any little peep coming to the rescue, unfortunately when Logan cries and we are in the middle of helping Nathaniel with something,we just let Logan cry till we can get to him. I think we have have realized a little crying wont hurt. Logan is becoming more alert and aware of his surroundings. He loves to watch his big brother. He's a sweet boy and we are so blessed to have him in our family.

18 Months Old
Nathaniel is such a big boy now! At first it was an adjustment but now he loves being a big brother and is always eager to help. Whenever Logan cries he will bring the binky over and put his head on his shoulder as if to hug him. It's really sweet to see. They are going to be the best of friends.
He is also discovering his world... getting bumps and bruises along the way :-( He still loves to throw the ball and points out every one he sees. Nathaniel also loves dogs and says "woof, woof" any time we see one. His language is exploding like crazy and he is very good at communicating. We only taught him a few things in sign language (More, All Done and Food) but they have been very helpful to us. Much to my surprise he is less excited about the Day Care at the club... probably because he thinks we are going to go out and get another kid to bring home while we are away. He seems so big now!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
A peaceful moment at last...
Who knew I could sleep with both boys in my arms...
Okay so maybe I wasn't FAST asleep for this second picture. But there are many times in the last month where this has been the case. I often wish I had a camera to capture those moments of me and my boys. Thankfully Oma was able to catch one of them.

Cookie Time
I could hardly resist.... Nathaniel has been bringing me this package of Girl Scout cookies for 2 months now and I keep saying we will have them someday and to put them back in the cupboard. So I gave in today. I figured I should reward his obedience... and now that they are gone, I won't have to keep saying No!
