Letter A

Week 3. We spent the week talking about the letter A. We made an apple tree with finger paints. Apple tasting was fun too. I think pancakes shaped like A's were the highlight this week.

Stitches

Well maybe it's only one stitch (who knows) but it still hurts and I'm a wimp. I went in for a routine dermatology appointment and ended up having my finger numbed up to drain fluid out of a little bubble on my finger. Turns out the fluid wouldn't drain so they made a game time decision and took the cyst out of my finger. Glad to have it out... but it totally changed my week.

Letter G

Week 2. We studied about Creation and the Garden of Eden. We found the letter G all over town! We also did a few crafts and worked on writing both uppercase and lowercase letters.

Homeschool Pre-K Letter X

So I will unashamedly say I'm not ready for my little guy to go off to school. I know a lot of moms sending their children off, but I can't bear the thought. So we are going to do a sort of Preschool at home this year, just to make sure he's up on his letters, and numbers. I found a letter of the week curriculum online that was inexpensive and follows an outline of the Bible. So the letters are out of order but I figure there are enough toys around singing the correct order they won't be confused. So this week we started with the letter X and went on a treasure hunt around the house rounding up school supplies and a Bible to help us on our journey. We made our own binoculars. My boys love craft time. In the car as we drive around town we look for the letter X. Our snacks sometimes had an X theme. And we had a lot of fun.

Summer bowling

The bowling alleys here offer two free games every day all summer long to kids. So naturally we signed up and although we only made it a few times we had fun.

Swimming

Nathaniel and Logan have been working on swimming this summer. We are so proud of them and the progress they are making.

Overnight at Oma's

The boys were able to spend a fun night with their cousins at Oma's house last week. After a bike ride and playing in the dirt they roasted hot dogs and smores and then slept out under the stars. Fun times.
