Survived our first tumble

It was probably the most traumatic for me.... Nathaniel and I were at the park just down the street and he was exploring the area. He went to climb the stairs which we have done many times before and he tripped and bit the second stair. He was just screaming! I scooped him up and there was blood coming out his mouth and nose. What to do? What to do! I had walked to the park and was totally unprepared :-( I just held him. After a few minutes (and blood all over my shirt) he stopped crying and just wanted to snuggle. I was still trying to see where the cut was and if he still had all his teeth. Nathaniel didn't like me prying around, he seemed to calm down and the bleeding stopped so we walked home and took at bath. He was back to his normal self by then and just wanted to splash around in the tub. I however was still traumatized and vow we will never go to the park with the mean stairs again! I know. I am going to have 2 boys and these things will happen. So thankful it wasn't worse.

The Babysitters

My Mom and Dad watched Nate for a bit while I made a quick trip to the grocery store. Looks like lots of fun can be had in a short time! Dad didn't have to work today so he had a lot of energy to burn, much to Nathaniel's excitment.

Cousins

We had dinner at Oma & Papa's the other night and met up with Nathaniel's cousin Christian (Jeremy's son). They had so much fun playing with this bucket of balls. Nathaniel follows Christian around and copies his every move. He loves watching big boys play. Soon he will be a big boy too!

Enjoying the backyard

Planting our Garden

We had a little helper this year when it came to planting the garden.

Fun at Oma's

Nathaniel discovered Oma now has alphabet magnets for the refridgerator!

Oma is always making something yummy and Nathaniel wanted to get in on the action of course.

All wound up

Nathaniel graduated to the 1 year old nursery today at church. We tried to put him in there in February and he just sat in the teachers lap the whole time, frightened by his peers who were running around. When we picked him up back then, they suggested he stay in the baby area until he was walking (so he doesn't get trampled :-) He's been walking well for the last week, so we tried it again today. I think he was sad when we arrived to pick him up. He was having sooo much fun, and totally wound up from all the activity in that room. We took him to Washington Square mall to run off some energy. He walked all the way from JCPenny to Macy's stopping on the way to look at the balls in Sports Authority and the Lego castles in the Lego store. By the time he hit Macy's he was done and just sat down in the hallway to catch his breath. Hopefully he will have a nice solid nap now:-)

Waiting for Daddy

Daddy went on a business trip last week for a couple of days and Nathaniel stood by the door looking to see if he was home. How sweet.

Hanging with Uncle Stevie

Nathaniel just wants to be one of the boys. They were watching a blazer game together.

Learning to brush our teeth

I usually try to brush Nathaniel's teeth before I put the bubble gum toothpaste on the brush (it's training toothpaste that is not harmful if swallowed). It's so funny to hear the sucking sounds as he savors the toothpaste. I try to get him to move the brush over his teeth, mostly I'm unsuccesful. Oh well. It gives me a minute to brush my teeth anyway.

Doors and Molding Project update

Before

After

We did it!!!! We were actually a couple boardfeet short at the end of the day, so we ran off to Home Depot and got the boards and painted them. Thankfully they were dry enough to install on Friday. We've almost got everything moved back into it's proper place though. It looks soooo nice!

Playing Peek-a-Boo

Nathaniel likes to play Peek-a-Boo. Sometimes it takes me a minute to figure out what he is doing. Usually he initiates it and I end up saying where's Nathaniel... he moves the towel... There he is! What a sweet boy.

US News & World Report

My little guy reading up on the latest issue of US News and World Report. He found it in Daddy's backpack for work. Look closely at the cover story. How funny! Guess he wants to be like my Grandpa Jerry (93 and still going strong!)
