Who taught him this?

It was quite interesting to try and figure out what was going on in his brain when he methodically tore apart each shred. But after a few I took the box away... Momma the Fun Police is my new name.

11 month picture

This was the worst picture session ever... the photographer was terrible (customer service wise)! Good thing I didn't have to smile. The photo shoot was only 5 minutes, good thing Nathaniel can smile!!!

My sweet boy smiling... even under the weather

Nathaniel was feeling bad just before we left for Mexico. He had a terrible runny nose and was really not into playing at all... so Daddy let him just lay on his chest. It was so sweet I took a picture. Then Ken said "Hooray for Momma!" and Nathaniel sat up clapped his hands and then realized he was too tired, so he laid back down. We did it a couple of times... it was sooo cute! But eventually we let him get some rest and thankfully he was better in a few days and able to have a fun visit with Oma/Papa while we were in Mexico.

A couple of pictures of Mexico

Despite how sick I was, we did get a couple of shots on the camera of the wedding which was absolutely gorgeous!

Nathaniel's weekend with Oma/Papa

Guess what Oma taught Nathaniel while we were in Mexico!!!! Other than a little mischeif he was a really good boy and actually slept from 6:30pm to 7:30am!!!! He was on his best behavior and hardly missed us. He took good naps. Ate his food. Played with his toys. Mom and Dad said they would be up for watching him again sometime :-) That's great, because I still need a good nights sleep!

And I left strick instructions on no sugar/no sweets for Nathaniel. I can only hope they kept their word after seeing this picture!

Home sweet home!

I love being home. I love being in the USA. But most of all I love seeing my sweet sweet little boy smiling at me! Our Mexico trip was a bust :-( I literally spent the whole time either on the floor of the bathroom or in bed. On Thursday after checking in we went and grabbed a bite to eat at a recommended place in the Marina. About 2 hours later I was vommitting and had diarehha. I know that might be too gross to post. I wont put any more details. That lasted for the next 48 hours :-( We missed almost all the wedding events... including the sunset cruise, zip lineing in the jungle, hanging out at the pool, the rehearsal dinner. I was lucky to make it to the wedding and even then I was in the last chair in the back row in case and emergency exit was needed. I felt terrible the whole time I was there. The weather was nice... around 80 degrees. I was inside the whole time. Lame.

Off to Mexico...

Nathaniel is safe and sound with OMA.... off to Mexico bright and early tomorrow!

He was laughing for about 15 minutes before I decided to get the camera. So this is the tail end of fun times.

Missing our family in Peru

My youngest brother and his wife are going to visit my oldest brother and his wife/family in Peru next week. Looks like Nathaniel wants to jump in the suitcase and tag along! We miss you guys!

I confess

I only went to the gym today because I knew there would be cookies after class. Hey whatever gets you there right? Every Friday at 10am there are coffee and treats in the lobby... which means there is never a good enough reason to miss a Friday morning workout :-) On a side note... I'm actually sore from the workout.

11 Months Old

What a big boy we have! Gotta love that tongue sticking out :-) Nathaniel's always on the move. I feel like we are in this pattern of eat, play, sleep, diaper change, eat, play, sleep, diaper change. The joy of being a Mom :-) It's fun to watch him play. He's loving his new toys from Christmas. He's also been reading the "Taste of Home" magazines my mom brought over last week. Hope she doesn't want them back because Nathaniel's reading sometimes includes tearing pages. I feel like he is eating a ton of food but still weighs the same as he did at his 6 month appointment. I think he might have his Daddy's metabolism. He is trying all sorts of solid foods including chicken, bagels, crackers, peaches, green beans, whole fat yogurt. Mmmmmm. He is also sleeping better at night. We have stopped nursing him in the middle of the night. If he wakes up at 3am, Daddy is on duty :-) Nathaniel has also discovered the Kleenex box... it's like magic, you can just keep pulling on them! Once we put a stop to that he methodically took apart 1 Kleenex inch by inch. He was amazed. It was a mess, but fun to watch him discover.

Happy New Year!

We just got home from the best day with my Aunts/Cousins. 20+ years ago my Aunts (dad's sisters) started the tradition of taking the 9 nieces and nephews out for McDonalds and then to a movie of our choice. When we first started this tradition we all fit in one car! As we have gotten older they have graciously included spouses in the fun as well. Now it is impossible to get all 16 of us together at one time as 5 live out-of-state/country but there are usually at least 8-10 of us that are able to make it each year. First we order whatever we want at McD's.... I remember when my older brother used to order 3 Big Macs! After stuffing ourselves at McD's we head to the theater for the movie... which wouldn't be complete without popcorn, soda and a box of Junior Mints... although as we've gotten older some have chosen a coffee drink or Hagen Daz over a candy bar. And after the movie we used to go to Dairy Queen for ice cream... but we haven't done that in a few years... You don't realize it when your 12 but there really is a limit to how much you can eat in one day. Anyway, that's quite the Christmas package all complimentary of two totally awesome Aunts. The tradition lives on.... Today we saw Avatar in 3D. Very cool. Can't wait till next year's get together.

It snowed a few days ago
